On Saturday November, 19th two WHS students, Johnathon Stevens (Sophomore) and Amanda Van Rokel (Senior), participated in Special Olympics in Sioux City. This was the areas state competition for bowling, where there were other student from all ages around this side of the state. Each student participated in the area competition in October where there scores advanced them on to state. During the state competition Jonathon and Amanda were placed in divisions based upon their age, which had numerous athletes in each. Amanda and Johnathon both bowl the best scores they have yet this year and secured a first place medal. They both placed first in their division, Johnathon with a collective score of 277 and Amanda with a score collective score of 311 over two games. Each did an excellent job representing Washington High School.
